Angry Birds creator Rovio announced on Tuesday plans for a Patrick’s Day edition, and confirmed the release date of “Angry Birds Rio” as March 22.
During his presentation at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka revealed that the developer was preparing to launch a “very green” St. Patrick’s Day version of Angry Birds with “more of these,” pointing to a green plush pig, according to The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW).
The green-themed expansion pack adds to free Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Halloween levels released under the Angry Birds Seasons banner.
St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17, and given that its Valentine’s Day version was released a week before February 14, it’s probably safe to expect the game to launch any day now.
Separately, on Tuesday Rovio announced through Twitter that Angry Birds Rio, a customized version of Angry Birds used to promote the upcoming Fox cartoon “Rio,” will launch on March 22.
